Experiences and Perceptions of Risk Among Australian Men Who Have Sex with Men Who Engage in Sexual Strangulation.

Sexual strangulation-commonly referred to as "choking"-is a prevalent sexual practice among young people and individuals within the LGBTQ+ community, most prevalent in men who have sex with men. The practice of sexual strangulation is a potentially hazardous behavior that can have numerous deleterious health consequences. The effect of fetal movement awareness on birth outcomes among Somali migrant women - findings from a non-randomised intervention study in Sweden.

BACKGROUND: Women born in Somalia who have migrated to Sweden have increased risks of complications related to pregnancy and childbirth. Swedish-Somali women are, compared to women born in Sweden, less likely to contact healthcare for decreased fetal movements, which can be a sign of fetal distress. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of a Mindfetalness-based intervention in increasing awareness of fetal movements and its impact on birth outcomes among Swedish-Somali migrant women. METHODS: An intervention study with a non-randomised control group, encompassing Swedish-Somali migrant women

Applying the socioecological model to examine the beliefs, perceptions and attitudes surrounding preterm birth in Ethiopia: a qualitative study.

BACKGROUND: Premature birth is the leading cause of neonatal morbidity and mortality. Understanding perceptions, beliefs and attitudes towards preterm births, and how these factors influence care provision at health facilities and at home is crucial for improving preterm newborns' health outcomes. METHODS: We conducted an exploratory qualitative study at Batu and Meki communities in the East Shewa Zone of Oromia Region, Ethiopia. We conducted in-depth interviews (n=81) and focus group discussions (n=8) using semistructured guides. The study participants included women who had preterm births,

Evaluating the effect of two different training interventions on improving vaginal twin birth rates and provider confidence and knowledge levels: A pre- and post-intervention study.

OBJECTIVE: Despite the increasing trend in cesarean section rates in multiple pregnancies, vaginal delivery in twin pregnancies appears both possible and safe. METHODS: This retrospective multicenter study compared outcomes before and after the implementation of a vaginal twin intervention in two Italian hospitals. In January 2021 in Pescara and in July 2022 in Florence, physicians with expertise in twin and breech vaginal birth started working in each center, and clinicians and midwives started quarterly training in these skills. The study period was divided into two equal time intervals and

Immediate vs delayed concussion reporting: role of concussion knowledge, attitudes, and symptoms.

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to identify if concussion knowledge and attitude scores differed between collegiate student-athletes with immediate or delayed concussion reporting. METHODS: There were 67 student-athletes who were divided into 'Immediate' (N = 35) and 'Delayed' (N = 32) reporting of non-obvious concussions. Participants completed the Rosenbaum Concussion Knowledge and Attitudes Survey (RoCKAS) questionnaire, which is composed of a concussion knowledge index (CKI, 0-24) and attitude index (CAI, 15-75) with higher scores reflecting better performance. Groups were compar

An international study of cluttering curricula and SLT students' knowledge about cluttering.

Cluttering is a comparatively rare speech and language disorder. This lower prevalence has also been observed in textbooks for the academic curriculum (Tetnowski & Douglas, 2011), and fewer opportunities within higher education curricula to learn about this disorder (Tetnowski, 2009). The present study aimed to examine the extent to which cluttering is represented in SLT curricula, as well as students' knowledge of cluttering and their perceived readiness and confidence to diagnose and treat individuals who clutter. Additionally, the study aimed to compare these findings across countries. A to

Leveling up immunization: a systematic review of gamification interventions to improve Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine uptake.

BACKGROUND: HPV vaccine is effective in preventing cervical cancer in adolescents and young adults. Despite its proven effectiveness, vaccination rates remain suboptimal due to several barriers, such as insufficient knowledge and vaccine hesitancy. Gamification has emerged as an effective strategy for getting people involved and altering their health-related behaviors. To date, there are no literature-based systematic reviews on the effectiveness of gamification in leveling up HPV immunization and knowledge among adolescents or young adults. This systematic review seeks to evaluate the impact
