This report documents two patients with inversion and impaction of the second premolar tooth. Family and personal histories of both patients … ring tooth extraction. The second patient was a 9-year-old male with inversion and impaction of the maxillary right second premolar. Radiographic examination 3 months prior to the initial visit at our hospital showed an existing inversion of this tooth. This pointed to a developmental abnormality in the location of the original tooth bud.

In 2 cases of squamous cell carcinoma of maxillary gingiva, carboplatin (CBDCA) was administered by continuous infusion for 5 days, and the clinical outcome and platinum concentrations in the peripheral blood, urine and tissue were investigated. This article describes an 11-year-old patient in whom infective endocarditis developed after the occurrence of a dental abscess associated with a dens in dente affecting the maxillary left lateral incisor. Dens in dente has not been reported in the literature previously as a source of infection associated with infective endocarditis. A prolonged period of hospitalization was required to control the infective endocarditis, which was caused by a strain of nutritionally deficient streptococci.

At the Philipps-University Marburg 14 patients with obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS) have so far been successfully treated by surgical maxillo-mandibular advancement. These results clearly indicate that surgical treatment and cure of OSAS by maxillo-mandibular osteotomy is possible in case of an appropriate indication.

A case is presented of a 12-year-old, black male, who had a full permanent dentition except for retaining the two maxillary primary central incisors. A radiographic examination revealed the presence of two supernumerary teeth interfering with the eruption of the permanent central incisors. Space was orthodontically created for the permanent central incisors, the primary central incisors and supernumerary teeth were removed, and the permanent central incisors were orthodontically brought into proper alignment.

The radiographs of fifteen Malaysian patients with presenting ameloblastoma aged between 20-55 years (average 35 years) were studied for any peculiar local features. The most common features were cortical plate expansion (80%), corticated scalloped margin (67%), multiloculation (87%), and resorption of tooth roots (47%). The latter two features are constantly found in advanced tumour stage.
