Fibronectin in human solid tumors was studied by indirect immunofluorescence staining of biopsy material. Altogether 73 tumors were examined, comprising 12 sarcomas, 3 melanomas 1 reticulum cell sarcoma, 39 carcinomas, 6 benign soft-tissue tumors and 12 benign epithelial tumors. We employed vitreous biopsy (needle aspiration and pars plana vitrectomy) in eight cases of patients with uveitis of unknown etiology. The results of cytological and culture analysis provided the diagnosis of disseminated histoplasmosis in one patient and ocular reticulum cell sarcoma in another patient. Bleomycin alone was used in the treatment of 54 patients with Hodgkin's disease in its later stages, 17 with generalized lymphosarcoma, 22 with reticulum cell sarcoma, and 7 with mycosis fungoides.
