Mebendazole (methyl-5-benzoylbenzimidazole-2-carbamate), a new broad spectrum anthelmintic, cured 26 (74% out of 35 children) with severe symptomatic trichuriasis. Repeat course of therapy were necessary in some cases. The nine treatment failures all showed large reductions (82-99%) in egg counts. This study deals with the decolorization of black liquor (BL) by isolated potential bacterial consortium comprising Serratia marcescens (GU193982), Citrobacter sp. (HQ873619) and Klebsiella pneumoniae (GU193983). The decolorization of BL was studied by using the different nutritional as well as environmental parameters. The ability of three newly developed reversible inhibitors of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) (K298, K344 and K474) and currently available carbamate pyridostigmine to increase the resistance of mice against soman and the efficacy of antidotal treatment of soman-poisoned mice was compared. METHODS: Poison Control Center data were examined for the years 1995 through 2004. Rates were calculated for pesticide type and selected pesticide classes based on estimated total United States population and proportion of population served. The prophylactic efficacy of 17C91, a carbamate prodrug of atovaquone (ATQ), was investigated in a severe combined immunodeficient mouse model of Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP).
