A simple and efficient method based on the technique of packed column switching-back flushing was established for the analysis of the ester compounds (including ethyl acetate, sec-butyl acetate, dimethyl carbonate) in gasoline. With the use of a non-polar pre-column, we successfully separated the components in gasoline by back flushing out components heavier than n-octane, while the lighter components and the ester compounds were flushed into a polar analytical column. A set of tryptic peptides was analyzed in reversed-phase liquid chromatography using gradient elution with acetonitrile, methanol, or isopropanol. We used these retention data as training sets to develop retention prediction models of peptides for the three organic eluents used. A highly sensitive gas chromatographic-mass spectrometric (GC-MS) method was developed for dithiocarbamates (DTCs) and milneb in foods. DTCs and milneb were extracted from foods with cysteine-EDTA solution as sodium salts, and methylated with methyl iodide. Methyl derivatives of DTCs and milneb were cleaned up on a neutral alumina mini column and determined by GC-MS. Porous graphitic carbon (PGC) is known as well suited adsorbent for liquid chromatography of carbohydrates. In this work we report on systematic investigations of solvent effects on the retention mechanism of fluorescence labeled malto-oligosaccharides on PGC. OBJECTIVE: To develop a headspace gas chromatography method for determining dimethyl sulphate residual in granisetron hydrochloride.
METHODS: An Angilent INNOWAX capillary column with nitrogen gas as carrier and FID as detector was applied in this study. Dimethyl sulphate was tested under a constant column temperature.
