OBJECTIVE: The amniotic membrane (AM) is a tissue with low immunogenity and high therapeutic potential due to its anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic and antimicrobial effects. This paper describes the use of cryopreserved amniotic membrane allografts to treat diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) in patients with diabetes.
METHOD: In this case series, AM was processed to obtain a final medicinal product: cryopreserved amniotic membrane. cryopreserved AM was applied every 7-10 days until total epithelialisation of the DFUs.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the pregnancy outcomes of assisted reproductive technology (ART) with cryopreserved donor sperm and the safety of the offspring thus conceived.
METHODS: The Human Sperm Bank of CITIC Xiangya Hospital provided cryopreserved donor semen to 31 reproductive centers in China between January 2006 and December 2012, with which 50247 ART cycles were accomplished. We compared the rates of birth defects and spontaneous abortion of intracervical insemination (ICI), intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilization (IVF), and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).

OBJECTIVE: This study examines the outcomes of the cryopreserved mitral homograft in 110 patients prospectively followed with clinical, echocardiographic and structural valve deterioration (SVD) assessments.

The production of recombinant proteins in the milk of transgenic animals is an alternative to traditional cell culture methodology. Transgenic rabbits can serve in the small-scale production of recombinant proteins, underscoring the need to maintain valuable transgenic lines. BACKGROUND: A transient state of azoospermia may occur due to toxic, environmental, infectious or iatrogenic conditions. Both fresh and cryopreserved cultured epithelial allografts were used to treat 20 patients with a total of 30 chronic ulcers. A profound stimulation of host epithelialization from the wound edges and epidermal appendages was observed. Our data suggest that allografts, prepared using a simple cryopreservation technique, retain their morphological and functional characteristics, and are as effective as fresh allografts in healing chronic ulceration.
