Of 570 patients with clinical manifestations of bile duct and pancreas diseases, examined by ERCP, 122 had different atypical anatomical variants (142 in 114 patients) and anomalies of the biliary passages (8 patients). Endoscopic sphincterotomy was performed on two patients who had biliary-cutaneous fistula after cholecystectomy. The outcome was favorable. The author recommends this procedure as a desirable alternative to laparotomy with secondary biliary surgery.

Over a 5-year period, 443 patients were treated for primary gallstone disease. There were 333 patients with negative preoperative findings in the common bile ducts (CBD) on sonography and liver enzymes estimation who underwent cholecystectomy without endoscopic retrograde cholangiography (ERC). Thirty-eight surgical explorations of the choledochus were necessary, and in 11 patients a second intervention (endoscopically) had to be performed. Fourteen welders were examined with the purpose to evaluate the incidence and the type of pathologic changes of the gastrointestinal tract due to the exposure to welding fumes. We report a case of a 46-year-old woman with a history of autoimmune atrophic gastritis and recurrent erythema nodosum (EN). Laboratory results showed iron-deficiency anaemia, positive antiparietal cell antibodies and marginal deficiency of vitamin B12. Although EN was refractory to general measures (rest and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) and corticosteroid therapy, it was successfully treated with vitamin B12 supplementation.

Experience of the patients treatment, suffering gastrointestinal ulcer hemorrhage, in Municipal Centre, dealing with such cases, was summarized. There was established, that conduction of endoscopic monitoring is indicated in all patients, suffering gastrointestinal ulcer hemorrhage for early diagnosis of the hemorrhage recurrence signs and conduction of prophylactic measures. Introduction of local endoscopic hemostasis, еndoscopic monitoring in complex of conservative therapy have permitted to reduce the operative interventions conduction rate in 2,5 times.
