Pyogenic granuloma is a benign vascular lesion that is most frequently found in the epidermis or mucosa of the oral cavity. Its finding in the ileum is rare, there are only a few case reports. In most reported cases, diagnosis is made with capsule endoscopy or double-balloon enteroscopy. We present a case of a lesion in the ileum, approximately 15 cm from the ileocecal valve, documented by colonoscopy.

BACKGROUND: Recurrent bleeding episodes are often a cause of significant anxiety in patients with pyogenic granuloma (PG). The idea of using common salt for the treatment of PG arose from the need for a relatively safe and effective treatment because of the recurrent nature of the lesion.
METHODS: A prospective open-label uncontrolled study of 50 patients was conducted. All cases were treated with ordinary table salt from a commercially available package. White soft paraffin was first applied over the perilesional skin, then sufficient salt to cover the entire lesion was applied and the area

PURPOSE: Topical timolol has been increasingly demonstrated to be an effective treatment for pyogenic granulomas (PG). The authors review the treatment outcomes of 17 patients with ocular PG treated with topical timolol.
METHODS: Retrospective interventional study of 17 patients with ocular PGs treated with timolol 0.5% solution. Patient demographics, clinical features, treatment response, and recurrence were noted.
RESULTS: Nine females and 8 males with a mean age of 23 years (range, 3-67 years) were included. Mean duration of disease prior to treatment was 3.81 months (range, 0.25-11 month

Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) is the most common salivary gland adenocarcinoma, more frequently affecting female patients in the fifth decade of life. When MEC arises in the minor salivary glands, the palate is the primary site. This case report describes an MEC on the palate of a 30-year-old woman. The lesion was initially treated as a pyogenic granuloma, but the final diagnosis based on histopathology was low-grade MEC. The patient was referred for cancer treatment, and no recurrence was observed during 3 years of follow-up. Some malignant tumors can mimic nonneoplastic reactive lesions cli

BACKGROUND: Pyogenic granuloma is a benign vascular tumor, usually occurring on the skin or in the oral cavity. Small intestinal pyogenic granuloma is extremely rare, but intestinal intussusception due to the tumor is even rarer. Only 3 cases have been reported in the English literature at this writing.
CASE PRESENTATION: An 86-year-old woman presented with abdominal pain and vomiting. Laboratory data discovered anemia. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography revealed small bowel obstruction due to intestinal intussusception. After decompression by long tube for 1 week, the obstruction did not

Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is an uncommon lesion of unknown etiology. It may be formed following a minor injury. They result from a reactive or inflammatory process consisting of proliferating vascular channels, immature fibroblastic connective tissue, and scattered inflammatory cells rather than neoplastic process. Bleeding is the most common symptom of the lesion. They may be seen in all age groups, and there is no clear predominance of a gender. Vulvar PGs can be confused with other polypoid or sessile lesions of the genital site. There are only a few cases of female genital PGs reported in th

PURPOSE: To report the clinical outcomes of 0.5% timolol maleate eye drops for the treatment of conjunctival pyogenic granuloma (PG) and its effect on intraocular pressure (IOP).
METHODS: In this retrospective study, consecutive patients with conjunctival pyogenic granuloma between January 2019 and September 2019 were prescribed 0.5% timolol maleate eye drops twice a day and followed up for 8 weeks. IOPs were measured before treatment, while on treatment and 6 weeks after treatment.
RESULTS: A total of 12 patients with conjunctival PGs were treated with 0.5% timolol maleate eye drops. Patien

BACKGROUND: A pyogenic granuloma is a frequent palpebral pseudotumor. Showing a typical clinical picture after an inflammation (hordeolum, chalazion) it can be easily diagnosed and sometimes a histopathological analysis is thought to be unnecessary.
METHODS: A case report of a patient suffering from a palpebral metastasis of a clear cell renal cell carcinoma (cRCC) as an atypical differential diagnosis of an inflammatory pseudotumor of the eyelid is presented.
RESULTS: A 72-year-old man presented for surgical treatment of a pyogenic granuloma. The medial portion of the inferior eyelid showed

INTRODUCTION: Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a prevalent inflammatory hyperplasia of skin and oral mucosa which is often caused by constant low-grade local irritation, traumatic injury or hormonal factors. In many cases, gingival irritation and inflammation due to poor oral hygiene are precipitating factors. Oral PG occurs predominantly on the gingiva, but it is also encountered on the lips, tongue, buccal mucosa and rarely on the hard palate. Although surgical excision is the first choice of treatment, many other treatment modalities could be counted such as cryosurgery, sodium tetradecyl sulfate

AIM: The aim of this study is to highlight the development of pyogenic granuloma and hemangioma after the placement of dental implants.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A literature search was performed using MEDLINE, accessed via the National Library of Medicine PubMed Interface, for articles published between 2000 and 2014 in English, relating to the occurrence of pyogenic granuloma or hemangioma in relation to dental implants.
RESULTS: Our search identified only four case reports of pyogenic granuloma and hemangioma related to dental implants as reported in the English literature.
CONCLUSION: Plac

Bacillary angiomatosis is a rare opportunistic infection caused by the gram-negative bacteria Bartonella. The infection is strongly related to human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, and hence, the diagnosis is usually considered based on the fact that the patient is HIV positive. We report on a case of bacillary angiomatosis presenting as a pyogenic granuloma of the hand in an otherwise apparently healthy man. The report is aimed to increase the awareness of hand surgeons that this serious disease may be the first clinical manifestation of HIV infection. The case also demonstrates that

Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a polypoid lobular capillary hemangioma rarely described in the large bowel. We describe the case of a 72-year-old man with recent weight loss, anemia, and change in bowel habit. A 3cm×2cm polypoid lesion in the right flexure of the colon was observed and treated with extended right hemicolectomy. A review of the English-language literature on PG of the large bowel in adults yielded eight previously reported cases. The age of the patients ranged from 26 to 80 years with a mean of 54.8 years. The lesions were all solitary, except one case of multiple lesions in the co
