Satoyoshi syndrome was first reported in Japan in 1967. It is a rare multisystem disorder of presumed autoimmune etiology that is characterized by alopecia, intermittent painful muscle spasms, diarrhea, and antinuclear antibody positivity. We report an 11-year-old girl with Satoyoshi syndrome who presented to the dermatology department for treatment of alopecia universalis. We present this case to emphasize the importance of recognizing Satoyoshi syndrome, which could go unnoticed if not suspected.

Warburg syndrome is a rare disorder characterized by microcephaly, microcornea, congenital cataract, developmental delay, and hypogonadism. Here, we report two siblings from India who presented with developmental delay, microcornea, microphthalmia, and bilateral congenital cataracts, born to the third-degree consanguineously married couple. Both children had hypoplasia of corpus callosum. In this report, we aim to highlight and compare clinical features of these two cases with previously reported cases.

Vibrio cholerae resistance to third-generation cephalosporins is rarely reported. We detected a strain that was negative for extended-spectrum β-lactamase and positive for the AmpC disk test, modified Hodge test, and EDTA disk synergy test and harbored the blaDHA-1 and blaNDM-1 genes. During 2003-2006, diphtheria rates in Hyderabad, India, were higher among persons 5-19 years of age, women, and Muslims than among other groups. Vaccine was efficacious among those who received >/=4 doses. The proportion of the population receiving boosters was low, especially among Muslims. We recommend increasing booster dose coverage.
