Skin reaction patterns to intradermal injections of a Staphylococcus intermedius antigen were examined in physically healthy dogs and in dogs with German Shepherd dog Pyoderma (GSP) at 15 and 30 minutes and at 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 24, 48 and 72 hours after the injection. In both groups the skin histopathology revealed an aspecific inflammatory response of an early polymorphonuclear reaction, followed by a mononuclear cell reaction at 24 and 48 hours. It is concluded that hypersensitivity to staphylococcal antigens does not play a role in the pathogenesis of GSP.

Levamisole and D-penicillamine are not skin sensitizers in rats. A selected group of 142 hospital "wet" workers with hand eczema was studied. 91% were female. The role of Basidiospores in the allergic diathesis is poorly understood. Dialyzed extracts of Agaricus campestris, Coprinus micaceus, Fuligo septica, Lycoperdon perlatum, Scleroderma lycoperdoides, Ustilago maydis, and sooty mold were prepared from fresh spores. The study group consisted of 100 patients with asthma and 100 patients with allergic rhinitis. These 200 patients had symptoms occurring during October and November. All were intradermally skin tested with the seven extracts at concentrations of 1 microgram/mL or 10 micrograms/mL. No scratch or pressure puncture tests were performed.

The effects of diphenhydramine and diphenhydramine plus ethanol on response to intradermal histamine and on mental performance were assessed in twelve male volunteers.
