Description is given of two sisters, offspring of a first cousin marriage, who exhibited the following identical lesions: 1) cysts of the borders of upper and lower lids; 2) hypodontia; 3) hypotrichosis; 4) palmo-plantar keratosis and 5) onychodystrophy. It is suggested that this combination represents a previously unrecognized autosomal recessive trait in man.

BACKGROUND: von Willebrand disease (VWD) is the most common inherited bleeding disorder caused by defective or deficient von Willebrand factor (VWF). VWD type 3 is inherited in autosomal recessive manner. We described clinical and molecular features of VWD type 3 in two consanguineous marriage families.
METHODS: Peripheral blood was collected, PT, APTT, FVIII:C, VWF:RCo, VWF:Ag were measured. A targeted next-generation sequencing panel covering F8, F9, and VWF genes was applied followed by Sanger sequencing.

The present study examined the longitudinal associations among financial strain, trajectories of marital processes, and increases in marital instability concerns among a sample of 280 African American newlywed couples followed over the first 3 years of marriage. Background. The aim of this study was to assess the association between herbal medication and OHSS. Methods. This retrospective cohort study was conducted with 101 polycystic ovary syndrome patients. 66 patients took conventional pharmacological medications and 35 took herbal medications. Data were analyzed by statistical test including Fisher's Exact and binominal logistic regression. P < 0.05 was considered significant. Results. Although infertility is often blamed on stress, the evidence that psychological factors interfere with conception is slim. Far more salient is the stress that infertility imposes on patients and their marriages. Primary care physicians can help by recognizing stress associated with infertility and making appropriate referrals for psychological support.

Thirty children seen between 1954 and 1970 with the diagnosis of anorexia nervosa were contacted between five and twenty years after initial treatment. Patients outcomes in terms of education, weight in adulthood, medical problems, marriage, psychiatric treatment, and recurrence of anorexia were surveyed. Results corroborate those of earlier studies suggesting that adjustment in adulthood is related to personality type.

X-linked ichthyosis is a rare form of dermatological disease and when it presents as erythroderma it is even rarer. History of consanguineous marriage and prolonged labor during birth of patient, generalized scaling which gets better in summer months, flexural involvement, cryptorchidism made a diagnosis of X-linked ichthyosis. We report this case because of its rarity as erythroderma.

Laurence Moon Bardet Biedl Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder. Consanguineous marriage is usually the common cause. Principal features of Bardet Biedl Syndrome are red cone dystrophy, obesity, polydactyl, hypogonadism and renal anomalies. The diagnosis was overlooked in our patient until he came in our hospital. Epidermodysplasia verruciformis (EV) is a rare condition characterized by diffuse flat wart-like lesions. It is an autosomal recessive genodermatosis associated with susceptibility to infection by specific human papillomavirus genotypes and a high risk of skin cancer. Familial myelodysplastic syndrome occurring at a young age is a very rare childhood haematological malignancy. Two siblings, aged three and 18 years, from a consanguineous marriage, presented with pancytopenia and was subsequently diagnosed to have myelodysplastic syndrome. Both remained clinically stable throughout the illness. Splenectomy appeared to have fully corrected the cytopenia in one of them.

Three patients with postaxial polydactyly and other abnormalities of the hands and feet, hypoplasia and fusion of the vertebral bodies, and dental abnormalities are reported. Two were sisters born to normal unrelated parents; the other patient was the male offspring of a consanguineous marriage. We suggest that this constellation of abnormalities represents a recessively inherited syndrome.
