A patient presented with a 3-month history of a rapidly enlarging ulcerated tumour on his lower leg, occurring on a background of chronic idiopathic lymphoedema of approximately 10 years' duration. Histology revealed extensive infiltration of the dermis by a vascular tumour with pleomorphic and hyperchromatic endothelial cells, which stained positive for vascular markers CD31, CD34 and ERG. A diagnosis of lymphoedema-associated angiosarcoma was reached and our patient was treated with isolated limb perfusion with high-dose melphalan and tumour necrosis factor-alfa.

The aim is to evaluate disease-free (DFS) and overall survival (OS) of patients with fallopian tube carcinoma (FTCA) treated with adjuvant chemotherapy. An Institutional Review Board approved retrospective review identified 38 patients with FTCA that received adjuvant chemotherapy following primary surgery from 1975 to 2001. CAMT is a bone marrow failure syndrome that usually presents with isolated thrombocytopenia soon after birth. HSCT is curative, and MAC is associated with increased transplant-related morbidity and mortality, especially in the unrelated setting. We used a RIC regimen with alemtuzumab, fludarabine, and melphalan in a seven-month-old patient with CAMT who underwent a MUD HSCT. The transplant was well tolerated with few complications. Neutrophil and platelet engraftment occurred on day +12 and +29, respectively, and she had 100% donor chimerisms on days +19.

We report a case of IgA-kappa multiple myeloma in a 68-year-old woman that was revealed by concomitant pleural and pericardial effusion. These effusions were found to be caused by myeloma and were verified by cytological examination of the pleural fluid and pericardial biopsy. The patient had neither osteolytic lesions nor Bence-Jones proteinuria. After a pericardiocentesis, her condition improved with a melphalan and prednisolone treatment. As far as we know, such a phenomenon is rare and has never been reported yet as a way of diagnosing multiple myeloma.

A successful cadaveric transplantation in a patient with irreversible renal insufficiency due to light chain nephropathy is reported.
