Thyroid nodularity is a common finding. The incidence of thyroid cancer in the general population is estimated at 0.1%. An abdominal mass was palpated in a 14-year-old, spayed female cat with unresolving diarrhea and decreased appetite. A stricture of the ascending colon was confirmed radiographically, identified upon laparotomy, and resected. Colonic adenocarcinoma with infiltration into lymphatics was diagnosed histologically. One important conclusion should be made. When a laparoscopy or laparotomy is done, one should take full advantage of this by inspecting and/or palpating the second tube, the ovaries, and most pelvic and abdominal structures. Digital palpation of the prostate is not suitable for positive differentation between benign and malignant lesions of the prostate. Whenever a conspicuous finding is observed during a physical examination of the prostate a fine needle aspiration cytology is mandatory for eluidation of the disease. This procedure is simple and inexpensive, has a low rate of complications and high diagnostic validity.

INTRODUCTION: Multiple rib fractures exposes serious respiratory disorders and they are generally treated with non surgical methods. Nevertheless, in cases of long term pain despite medical treatment, parenchymal injury, hematoma, posture disorder and flail chest, surgery is needed.
