From 1989 to 1997, 40 patients underwent primary (n = 29) or a secondary (n = 11) epispadias repair according to the Cantwell Ransley Procedure. 23 patients had bladder exstrophy, 6 had penopubic epispadias, and 11 had penile epispadias. The mean age at surgery was 5 years (1-28 years); 23 patients were prepubertal and 17 were postpubertal. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is applicable to all eating disorders but has been most intensively studied in the treatment of bulimia nervosa (BN). CBT is designed to alter abnormal attitudes about body shape and weight, replace dysfunctional dieting with normal eating habits, and develop coping skills for resisting binge eating and purging. This study reports the first long-term follow-up of patients with schizotypal personality disorder (SPD) as defined by DSM-III. Patients with the pure syndrome (SPD, n = 10) were compared with patients with schizophrenia (S, n = 53) and borderline personality disorder (BPD, n = 81). This study follows up supracondylar fractures of the humerus in 41 children. Twenty-one boys and 20 girls were observed over an average period of 4.6 yr. This paper reports on a multicentre trial comparing the effects of speech therapists and untrained volunteers on recovery from aphasia following stroke. The technique for caudal epidural injections in the treatment of low back pain and sciatica are described and the results are reported. In 75 patients treated by epidural injection the results were excellent in 60% and good in 24%. 16% of the patients showed no improvement. After caudal epidural injection the use of antiinflammatory drugs, analgesics and relaxant agents was significantly lower than previously. The method is safe, simple and effective and the cost is low.

One hundred twelve anxiety neurotics originally seen in the medical clinics of a university hospital were interviewed after six years, and their outcome was compared with that of 110 surgical control subjects.
