BACKGROUND: Intramyometrial pregnancy is a rare subtype of ectopic pregnancy. The cases following IVF-ET were few reported in recent years. The etiological factors include previous uterine trauma like myomectomy, salpingectomy, dilatation and curettage, assisted reproductive technologies and adenomyosis. Early diagnosis is difficult to make due to its various manifestation. The medical treatment includes conservative management with surgical excision, aortic balloon occlusion, uterine artery embolization, MTX etc. Sometimes hysterectomy was performed due to delayed diagnosis.

The authors describe a rare case of secondary abdominal pregnancy after in vitro fertilization pre-embryo transfer (IVF-ET). Ultrasonography was applied to image ectopic gestational sac containing a yolk vesicle and located adjacent to the anterior uterine wall and left adnexa. Laparoscopy was done on the same day followed by sinistral salpingectomy due to tubal abortion indications. Intraabdominal examination showed chorionic structures penetrating pl. vesicouterina. Histological tests confirmed the EP diagnosis in the second material, i.e. indications of secondary abdominal pregnancy.

Isolated fallopian tube torsion (IFTT) is a rare pathology that causes acute abdomen in women, it is even less common in pediatric patients. We present a case of an 11-year-old girl who presented with abdominal pain 24 hours of evolution, the diagnosis could not be specified with cabinet methods, so the definitive diagnosis was made using a diagnostic laparoscopy. A necrotic hemorrhagic tubal cyst was found. A left salpingectomy had to be performed due to necrosis. Early diagnosis can have a positive impact on the fertility of these patients.

Isolated fallopian tube torsion (IFTT) is a rare entity in adolescent girls. Invasive surgery, salpingectomy, was used during the initial surgery or at the time of recurrent torsion in 87% of previously reported cases. Herein, the authors present an adolescent premenarcheal girl with idiopathic IFTT, which was treated by laparoscopic detorsion, to emphasize that tubal torsion should be included in the list of differential diagnoses of abdominal pain in adolescent girls. Minimally invasive, organ-saving surgery should be done, and the child should be followed up for recurrent torsion.

BACKGROUND: Prior to the availability of modern laparoscopic surgical techniques and equipment, ectopic pregnancy was managed predominately by laparotomy. An alternative surgical approach, by posterior colpotomy, was advocated as a diagnostic and a therapeutic approach that often avoided laparotomy.

Heterotopic pregnancy is a simultaneous occurrence of intra-uterine pregnancy and ectopic pregnancy. The incidence of ectopic pregnancy has increased as a consequence of assisted reproduction and ovulation stimulation agents. In this report, we describe the case of a 34-year-old nulliparous woman who became pregnant after ovulation induction with clomiphene. According to her gynaecologic history, she had embolisation of a uterine myoma. The report presents a case of ectopic and twin intra-uterine pregnancy. After total laparoscopic salpingectomy, she had normal intra-uterine pregnancy.

Plesiomonas shigelloides are ubiquitous Gram-negative bacteria that are found in fresh or marine water, particularly in tropical or warm climates; they were recently implicated in diarrhoeal disease. Patients usually present with a history of recent travel to tropical regions or consumption of uncooked seafood. Extraintestinal disease has rarely been reported, occurring generally in neonates or immunocompromised patients, and is often fatal. We report a case of right pyosalpinx due to P. shigelloides acquired by swimming in contaminated water. Laparoscopic salpingectomy led to a good outcome.

Uterine rupture during pregnancy is a critical obstetric complication associated with maternal and fetal mortality and morbidity. The risk is increased in patients with a history of previous uterine surgery including cesarean section, myomectomy, salpingectomy, as well as uterine and placental anomalies and polyhydramnios. It can also occur spontaneously. We present a case of uterine rupture in the early third trimester in a woman who had undergone previous laparoscopic removal of the left fallopian tube due to sactosalpinx and laparotomic removal of left uterine horn due to ectopic pregnancy.

OBJECTIVE: To report a case of co-infection with Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Actinomyces naeslundii in a woman with an intrauterine device.
CASE REPORT: A 36-year-old woman with IUD, who entered to the hospital because of suprapubic abdominal pain, fever and foul-smelling vaginal discharge.
RESULTS: We identified Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Actinomyces naeslundii and despite antibiotic treatment, ultrasound allowed objectify pelvic inflammatory disease and appendiceal involvement, which led to its surgical removal and bilateral salpingectomy.

The authors report on an atypical clinical picture of an acute abdomen syndrome caused by the rupture of an atypically located pyosalpinx in a 9-year old girl.A perforated right-sided pyosalpinx was found at two locations, firmly adhering to a vesicouterine excavation. Right-sided salpingectomy, appendectomy, pelvic cavity lavage and drainage of the Douglas cavity were performed. The pathohistology indicated a perforated pyosalpinx and catarrhal appendicitis. On bacteriological analysis, Escherichia coli was isolated from the vaginal discharge and from the pus collected from the small pelvis.
