Thymic carcinomas (TC) are rare tumors, representing 0.2% to 1.5% of all malignancies, with extrathoracic metastases to liver, kidney and bone occurring in 1% to 15% of patients. Metastatic tumours are the most common type of tumours in the spine of which only 10% occur in the cervical spine. We report a rare presentation of metastatic pheochromocytoma of the cervical spine which was successfully treated operatively. Adequate precautions should be taken during surgery as the tumour is very vascular. Radiotherapy is useful in the treatment of residual tumour.

Lumbar herniated nucleus pulposus (HNP) and lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) are common spine pathologies with different clinical presentations and interventions. HNP generally has an acute onset often without a precipitating event.
