Acute scrotum is a critical clinical entity in children. This report presents a 12-year-old boy presented with recurrent epididymo-orchitis (EO) with a history of pelvic trauma and urethral disruption 10 years ago. Antegrade and retrograde studies confirmed urethrovasal reflux. The patient did not respond to prophylactic antibiotics, clean intermittent catheterization and endoscopic injection of bulking agent at the junction of the ejaculatory duct and posterior urethra. PURPOSE: Vasoepididymostomy is a technically challenging and complex microsurgical procedure. Recently a new triangulation end-to-side microsurgical technique was reported that allows intussusception of the epididymal tubule into the vasal lumen, resulting in a higher clinical patency rate of 92% with shorter operative time in preliminary clinical studies. We performed a prospective controlled randomized study comparing the patency rate, postoperative sperm granuloma rate and operating time of conventional and intussusception end-to-side vasoepididymostomy in previously vasectomized rats.

Between 1966 and 1977, 16 primary testicular tumors (PTT) were treated at the Social Security Children's Hospital in Barcelona. Treatment consisted of resection of the testis, vas deferens and spermatic vessels followed, when the peroperatory biopsy revealed malignancy, by para-aortic lymphadenectomy in 11 of the 13 patients with primary malignant testicular tumors (PMTT). Retroperitoneal radiation therapy was given to patients with positive paraaortic nodes. The literature available on the agouti (Dasyprocta leporina) is very limited. The agouti is a Neotropical rodent found in Trinidad and Tobago, Central and South America. This study focuses on one of the many unexplored areas relating to the species, the male reproductive system. We report the case of a bilateral and multilocular spermatocele and sperm granuloma in a dog that was vasectomized 5 years before. Clinical examination revealed scrotal dermatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia. Orchiectomy was performed, and gross and histological examination showed testicular degeneration associated with epididymal sperm granuloma.
