Predicting the hub interactome of COVID-19 and oral squamous cell carcinoma: uncovering ALDH-mediated Wnt/β-catenin pathway activation via salivary inflammatory proteins.

Understanding shared pathways and mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of diseases like oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and COVID-19 could lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategies and diagnostic biomarkers. This study aims to predict the interactome of OSCC and COVID-19 based on salivary inflammatory proteins. Datasets for OSCC and COVID-19 were obtained from https://www.salivaryproteome.org/differential-expression and selected for differential gene expression analysis. Differential gene expression analysis was performed using log transformation and a fold change of two.

Trauma resuscitation with Low-Titer Group O Whole Blood Or Products: study protocol for a randomized clinical trial (the TROOP trial).

BACKGROUND: Hemorrhage is the most common cause of potentially preventable death after injury. Balanced transfusion with red blood cells, plasma, and platelets (component therapy, CT) has been shown to reduce mortality, and is the standard of care. Low-Titer Group O Whole Blood (LTOWB) is an attractive alternative to CT, but existing evidence comprises observational studies, and a small single center pilot randomized controlled trial, which evaluated a type of whole blood that is no longer in use. The aim of the "Trauma Resuscitation with Low-Titer Group O Whole Blood Or Products" (TROOP) tria

Identifying Drug-Drug Interactions in Spontaneous Reports Utilizing Signal Detection and Biological Plausibility Aspects.

Translational approaches can benefit post-marketing drug safety surveillance through the growing availability of systems pharmacology data. Here, we propose a novel Bayesian framework for identifying drug-drug interaction (DDI) signals and differentiating between individual drug and drug combination signals. This framework is coupled with a systems pharmacology approach for automated biological plausibility assessment. Integrating statistical and biological evidence, our method achieves a 16.5% improvement (AUC: from 0.620 to 0.722) with drug-target-adverse event associations, 16.0% (AUC: from
