BACKGROUND: The outcomes of mitral valve replacement (MVR) in pediatrics especially in the patients weighing less than 10 kg are not always favorable. This study aimed to measure long-term outcomes of MVR in our institution.
METHODS: Nine young children weighing less than 10 kg underwent MVR with mechanical prostheses were enrolled in this retrospectively study. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was used for the prediction of freedom from death and adverse events. INTRODUCTION: Echocardiographically identified pulmonary hypertension is an independent predictor of poor outcome in dogs affected by myxomatous valvular degeneration (MMVD). Systolic pulmonary arterial pressure is routinely estimated based on its relationship with the Doppler-determined velocity of tricuspid regurgitation as defined by the simplified Bernoulli equation (sPAP_D). Experimental studies suggest that the method is imperfect, but its accuracy in dogs with MMVD is not known.

OBJECTIVES: The present study aimed to evaluate maternal and fetal outcomes in patients who underwent percutaneous balloon mitral valvuloplasty (PBMV) during antenatal care.
