Chagas disease frequently causes megacolon. We investigated the enteric nervous systems in patients with chagasic megacolon compared to idiopathic megacolon and controls. OBJECTIVE: We analysed the incidence, clinical presentation and outcome of small bowel malignancies treated in the department.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: From July 1993 to December 2001, 29 patients with small bowel malignancies were operated upon. The median age was 60 years (30-87 years), and there were 11 males and 18 females.
