Understanding the views of adult migrants around catch-up vaccination for missed routine immunisations to define strategies to improve coverage: A UK in-depth interview study.

BACKGROUND: The World Health Organization's (WHO) Immunization Agenda 2030 emphasises ensuring equitable access to vaccination across the life course. This includes placing an emphasis on migrant populations who may have missed key childhood vaccines, doses, and boosters due to disrupted healthcare systems and the migration process, or differing vaccination schedules in home countries. Guidelines exist in the UK for offering catch-up vaccinations to adolscent and adult migrants with incomplete or uncertain vaccination status (including MMR, Td-IPV, MenACWY, HPV), but emerging evidence suggests

Fetal exposure to paracetamol is associated with altered markers of ovarian development and reduced uterine volume in girls: the COPANA study.

STUDY QUESTION: Is fetal exposure to paracetamol associated with markers of ovarian function in infancy? SUMMARY ANSWER: Mild to moderate doses of prenatal paracetamol exposure, assessed by detailed maternal reports and urinary measurements, are associated with ovarian morphology and activity as well as reduced size of estrogen-responsive tissues in infant girls. WHAT IS KNOWN ALREADY: Maternal use of paracetamol is widespread. Across multiple independent animal studies, fetal exposure consistently impairs the formation of primordial ovarian follicles, causing subfertility and premature estr

Exploring the impact of housing insecurity on the health and well-being of children and young people: a systematic review.

BACKGROUND: Housing insecurity can be understood as experiencing or being at risk of multiple house moves that are (1) not through choice and (2) related to poverty. For example, due to short-term private rental tenancies, temporary or emergency housing, and homelessness. Housing insecurity has grown due to recent trends in the cost and availability of housing. The quality, affordability and stability of housing have all been shown to impact children's health and well-being. However, the pathways linking housing and child health and well-being are complex and poorly understood. OBJECTIVES: To

Community- and family-level factors influence care-giver choice to screen blood lead levels of children in a mining community.

CONTEXT: Bunker Hill, in Kellogg, Idaho, formerly a lead mine (1884-1981) and smelter (1917-1981), is now a Superfund site listed on the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) National Priorities List. Lead contamination from the site is widespread due to past smelter discharges to land, water, and air, placing children at risk for both exposure to lead and resultant health effects of lead. Since 1983, the EPA has used child blood lead levels to inform the clean-up standards for the Bunker Hill Superfund site. This study was undertaken to examine factors that have contributed to the significa

Impact of Regional Healthcare Policy Interventions on Biosimilar Use: A 10-year Evaluation of TNFα Inhibitors Utilization in Italy.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Tumor neurosis factor alpha (TNFα) inhibitors are widely used for the treatment of immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. Following the patent expiration of infliximab, etanercept, and adalimumab, biosimilars have become available in Europe. In Italy specifically, each region adopted heterogeneous strategies to promote biosimilar uptake. The aim of this study was to describe the impact of different regional healthcare policy interventions on the utilization of biosimilars of adalimumab, infliximab, and etanercept in the last decade. METHODS: A descriptive, multiregi
