Clinical records of patients who underwent implant-supported rehabilitation according to the biologically oriented preparation technique (BOPT) principles were retrospectively analyzed. Records of 189 nonconsecutive patients who received 502 implants were reviewed. At the last follow-up visit (occurring on average 5.11 years after prosthesis delivery), 466 (92.8%) implants had a Gingival Index of 0, and 491 (97.8%) presented no bleeding on probing. We report three cases of scurvy in previously healthy children referred to us for leg pain and refusal to walk. All children had no significant medical history, symptoms had started months before and subtly advanced. BACKGROUND: Gingival fibromas and dental pitting are among the diagnostic criteria for tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC).
OBJECTIVE: Our goal was to document the oral findings in 58 adult patients with TSC.
RESULTS: Forty patients (69%) had oral fibromas, appearing mostly on the attached or interdental gingiva. Other oral mucosal sites with fibromas included buccal and labial mucosa, the superior labial frenulum, palate, and tongue. In all, 56 patients (97%) had multiple dental enamel pits.

Periodontal health parameters and salivary cortisol were studied in 19 adult pemphigus vulgaris patients on chronic steroid therapy. The patient population was divided into non-medicated and medicated subjects at intake into the study. Our results of bone grafting to the alveolar process during the mixed dentition were investigated in 55 consecutively treated patients (66 clefts).
