National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale certification is reliable across multiple venues.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale certification is required for participation in modern stroke clinical trials and as part of good clinical care in stroke centers. A new training and demonstration DVD was produced to replace existing training and certification videotapes. Previously, this DVD, with 18 patients representing all possible scores on 15 scale items, was shown to be reliable among expert users. The DVD is now the standard for National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale training, but the videos have not been validated among general (ie, nonexpert) user

How leadership attention is associated with online-offline healthcare service synergy: differentiated effects of noticing, interpreting, and acting.

AIM: This study examines how three types of leadership attention (noticing, interpreting, acting) are associated with online-offline healthcare service synergy (process and organizational synergy), along with motivational antecedents (credit claiming, blame avoidance) and contextual boundary conditions, using the APCC framework in the Chinese context. METHODS: An exploratory sequential design was adopted. During the qualitative phase, data were triangulated from 41 interviews (hospital administrators, health bureau officials, clinicians), "Internet + Healthcare" policy documents, and literatu

Guided internet-based treatment for anxiety and depression in Norwegian primary care: a randomized non-inferiority effectiveness trial.

OBJECTIVE: Meta-analyses suggest that therapist-guided internet-based cognitive behavioural therapy (iCBT) is as effective as face-to-face CBT for anxiety and depression, yet its non-inferiority in routine primary care settings is scarcely examined. We examined the non-inferiority of the therapist-guided program "Assisted self-help" (AS-iCBT) compared to treatment as usual within the Norwegian Prompt Mental Health Care (TAU-PMHC). METHODS: A pragmatic, parallel-group, randomized controlled non-inferiority trial with 1:2 (AS-iCBT: TAU-PMHC) allocation was conducted. Participants (n = 390, 37.4

Patient perspectives on telehealth access among people experiencing homelessness: a rapid review.

BACKGROUND: Telehealth services are rapidly expanding across the globe yet under-served populations, particularly people experiencing homelessness (PEH), are at risk of being further marginalised in society if focussed interventions to address telehealth access are not implemented. The aim of this rapid review was to report on the patient experience of PEH when accessing telehealth services. Secondary objectives of the review were to summarise both the patient and health service outcomes that were reported. METHODS: This rapid review identified peer reviewed literature that explored patient ex

Development and preliminary validation of a fertility concept scale for Chinese post-00s college students based on thematic analysis.

BACKGROUND: China faces an increasingly acute risk of entering a "low-fertility trap," and existing policy incentives have not produced the expected effects, underscoring the need to examine the micro-level psychological processes underlying fertility decision-making. Analyzing the fertility concepts of the post-00s generation is critical for predicting fertility behavior and informing targeted policies; however, suitable measurement tools remain lacking. METHODS: Based on the Theory of Planned Behavior and Social Network Theory, a mixed-methods approach combining collection of publicly avail

Interventions for secondary traumatic stress among mental health professionals serving trauma-affected populations: a systematic review.

BACKGROUND: Mental health professionals (MHPs) working with trauma-affected populations face a significant risk of developing Secondary Traumatic Stress (STS), a condition mirroring post-traumatic stress symptoms due to indirect exposure to trauma. Despite the growing awareness of STS, there remains limited systematic evidence on the effectiveness of interventions specifically targeting STS among MHPs. OBJECTIVE: This systematic review aimed to identify and synthesize empirical studies published between 2013 and 2025 that evaluated interventions designed to reduce STS symptoms in mental healt

Patient-Specific Spatio-Temporal False Data Injection Attack Detection for IoMT Using a Graph-GRU Digital Twin and Kalman Innovation Features.

The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is a promising technology for enabling smart and efficient healthcare systems through continuous physiological monitoring, early anomaly detection, and proactive patient management. However, IoMT sensors are vulnerable to False Data Injection Attacks (FDIAs), in which adversaries can manipulate sensor measurements to compromise diagnostic accuracy, mislead clinical decision-making, and threaten patient safety. Existing detection approaches often rely on population-level statistical models that may not fully capture individual physiological variations or re

Co-adapting a school-based mental health literacy intervention for adolescents in Cambodia and Vietnam.

INTRODUCTION: Given rising rates of mental health difficulties among young people, early intervention is crucial to mitigate personal and societal costs. Interventions should be locally adapted to ensure acceptability and sustainability, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), where health systems are often under-resourced. Vietnam and Cambodia are LMICs with young populations, recent histories of conflict and ongoing vulnerabilities, including poverty and urban-rural inequality. While many adolescents experience common mental disorders, access to care is limited by stigma, l

The effectiveness and usability of online, group-based interventions for people with severe obesity: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Long wait times, limited resources, and a lack of local options mean that many people with severe obesity cannot access treatment. Face-to-face group-based interventions have been found effective and can treat multiple people simultaneously, but are limited by service capacity. Digital group interventions could reduce wait times, but research on their effectiveness is limited. This systematic review aimed to examine the literature about online group-based interventions for adults with severe obesity (BMI ≥ 35 kg/m2). The review followed the PRISMA and PICOS frameworks.
