Respiratory bronchiolitis-associated interstitial lung disease (RB-ILD) is a clinicopathologic entity occurring rarely in smokers. We report three cases of RB-ILD diagnosed pathologically by surgical lung biopsy. Cough was observed in all cases, sputum in one case and dyspnea on exertion in another. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the stability of methacholine chloride in 0.9% sodium chloride solutions.
METHOD: Methacholine powder was mixed with diluent to a final concentration of 5 and 10 mg/ml. Duplicates of each admixture were divided and stored in glass vials at 25 degrees C, 4 degrees C and -20 degrees C for 12 months. CT is seldom employed in adult respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), mostly due to problems in transporting and monitoring these severely ill patients. We reviewed the findings of 74 ARDS patients who underwent chest CT. Lung opacities were bilateral in almost all patients and dependent in most cases (86%).
