UNLABELLED: There is a rapid increase of computer-assisted surgery (CAS) in the spine for insertion of pedicle screws. In contrast to the traditional technique using fluoroscopy, CT is the primary source for surgical navigation systems.

Acromegaly, a chronic disease of growth hormone (GH) hypersecretion, is most typically caused by a pituitary adenoma. Early diagnosis is critical for prompt intervention to prevent deleterious effects of prolonged exposure to elevated GH and insulin-like growth factor Type I (IGF-I) levels. Twenty five patients with post operative ischaemic deficits, following clipping of intracranial aneurysms, were studied. Hypertensive-hypervolaemic-haemodilution (triple H) therapy was given to all patients using colloids and crystalloids. CVP was used to monitor the fluid therapy. Dopamine was needed in 22 patients to elevate the systemic blood pressure.
