PURPOSE: To present a modified transconjunctival approach for involutional entropion repair.
METHODS: This study is a retrospective consecutive single surgeon case series using a transconjunctival approach for involutional lower lid entropion (ILLE) repair.
RESULTS: Eleven eyes were operated for involution entropion with 9 cases of complete resolution. Two patients required further Jones' retractor plication.
CONCLUSION: Transconjunctival involutional lower lid entropion repair is a time-efficient, safe, and efficacious technique. The scar free technique described leads to full restoration

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Infantile hemangiomas (IH) often pose a significant risk to visual development. The lesions interfere with visual development by causing deprivation, astigmatism, or strabismus. Propranolol has been suggested as the new standard of care for treatment of IH. Alternative treatments such as intralesional steroids or surgery may need to be considered as equal or better treatments in some cases. BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: To review the surgical management of five vertical strabismus syndromes secondary to anatomical abnormalities. These syndromes are: 1) craniosynostosis; 2) "heavy eye syndrome" of high myopia; 3) Brown syndrome; 4) upshoot-downshoot in Duane retraction syndrome (DRS); and 5) antielevation syndrome after inferior oblique anteriorization.

Silicone tubes are widely used in lacrimal system surgery. A common complication associated with the use of silicone tubes is lateral migration or displacement of the tubes. In some cases, the distal part of the silicone tube passes through the rhinostomy area, where it may become embedded in the lacrimal sac. The silicone tubes could not be seen in the nose endoscopically. The distal part of the silicon tube could not be seen in the rhinostomy area, so it was removed using a new method.

INTRODUCTION: Johan Georg Raeder (1889-1959) was the most eminent Norwegian ophthalmologist in the early decades of the last century. Raeder made significant contributions to our current understanding of glaucoma. We report on two fluidic lenses that have been developed for ophthalmic applications. The lenses use a circular aperture to demonstrate optical powers between -20 and +20 D and a rectangular aperture to demonstrate astigmatism with values ranging from 0 to 8 D. Measurements of image quality were made with the fluidic lens using a model eye. Both lenses were variable and controllable by adjusting the fluid volume of the lens. To the best of our knowledge this is the first demonstration of a continuously variable lens for control of astigmatism.
