CASE: We report the case of a 50-year-old woman with oncogenic osteomalacia secondary to a metastatic phosphaturic mesenchymal tumor (PMT) that presented, to our knowledge, with the first reported lesion in the talus.
CONCLUSION: Oncogenic osteomalacia is a rare condition with a unique serum biochemical profile that requires a high index of suspicion for diagnosis. Posttherapy scan in a 21-year-old woman with papillary carcinoma of thyroid with lymph node metastasis, who received 5.55 GBq of radioiodine (I), revealed halo-like diffuse tracer uptake in the pericardial region. Echocardiography showed no abnormality except pericardial effusion, which subsided after reinstitution of levothyroxine therapy. Although rare, false-positive radioiodine uptake can occur in pericardial effusion secondary to thyroxine withdrawal-related hypothyroidism and needs close monitoring of the patient.

Naja naja karachiensis have been responsible for plentiful deaths in Pakistan. To investigate bio distribution and blood kinetics, venom was labeled with the radiotracer (technetium-99m) by following the method of direct labeling technique. Breast cancer is the most-common cancer among women worldwide, and over one-third of all cases diagnosed annually are nonpalpable at diagnosis. The increasingly widespread implementation of breast-screening programmes, combined with the use of advanced imaging modalities, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), will further increase the numbers of patients diagnosed with this disease. The current standard management for nonpalpable breast cancer is localized surgical excision combined with axillary staging, using sentinel-lymph-node biopsy in the clinically and radiologically normal axilla.

BACKGROUND: Tc-99 sestamibi (MIBI) scan is the imaging study most frequently used in primary hyperparathyroidism (PHP). Transcutaneous cervical ultrasonography (US) is the other modality used for preoperative localization. The aim of this study was to determine whether surgeon-performed neck US can be used as the primary localizing study in PHP.
METHODS: This was a prospective study of 1,000 consecutive patients with first-time, sporadic PHP who underwent parathyroidectomy at a tertiary academic center. All patients had surgeon-performed neck US and MIBI before bilateral neck exploration.

Vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) is a well-recognized condition in the pediatric population, but is less well described in the adult population, and its prevalence decreases with increasing age. We describe the case of a 53-year-old male with nonfunctional kidney in which accumulation of radioactivity was observed in the ureter and renal pelvis owing to VUR, which was detected by technetium-99m diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid dynamic renal scintigraphy.

Our aim was to develop a practical method to prepare 68Ga-citrate using a SnO2-based 68Ge/68Ga generator and evaluate its use in infection imaging. 68Ga-citrate synthesis was performed in a straight forward, quantitative, one-step-aseptic procedure; an amended labeling method was applied using ACD-A buffered citrate as a precursor.
