PURPOSE: To study the intraoperative performance and postoperative outcomes of Cionni modified capsule tension ring (CTR) and intraocular lens (IOL) implantation in the capsular bag in pediatric eyes with ectopia lentis.

Spasmodic dysphonia is a neurological disorder characterized by involuntary spasms in the laryngeal muscles during speech production. Using immunohistochemical methods we determined the presence of SP- and CGRP-immunopositive nerve fibers in the hip joint of patients with femoral neck fracture (controls, group 1), painful osteoarthritis (group 2), and painless failed total hip arthroplasties (group 3). OBJECTIVES: Although dysarthria-clumsy hand syndrome (DCHS) is a well known and infrequent lacunar syndrome, there are few data regarding the spectrum of associated clinical characteristics, anatomical site of lesion, and aetiopathogenetic mechanisms. OBJECTIVE AND IMPORTANCE: Chronic encapsulated intracerebral hematoma is a fairly rare clinical entity. This unique lesion is peculiar for its clinical onset, formation of a capsule, and progressive enlargement. The mechanism for capsule formation and self-perpetuating expansion still remains uncertain, as well as the causal relationship with vascular malformations. Because of their pseudotumoral course and misleading neuroradiological features, these lesions can be misdiagnosed preoperatively as cerebral neoplasms.

Renal injuries due to nonpenetrating trauma are common in children. Pre-existing renal abnormalities are found in 10 per cent of children who sustain kidney injuries. Associated injuries are found in approximately 40 per cent of childhood cases. The most common serious injuries are those to the brain and the spleen.
