We have analyzed the effect of the synthetic glucocorticoid dexamethasone, used alone or in combination with recombinant TRAIL, on in vitro osteoclastic differentiation of peripheral blood-derived macrophages cultured in the presence of macrophage-colony stimulating factor (M-CSF) + RANKL for 12-14 days. BACKGROUND: There is limited information on the long-term outcome in liver transplant (LT) subjects undergoing partial splenic embolization (PSE) prior to full dose pegylated interferon/ribavirin (peg-IFN/RBV).
METHODS: Retrospective review of eight LT subjects after PSE and antiviral therapy.
RESULTS: Baseline platelets and neutrophils were <50 000 cells/mL and <1000 cells/mL in 75% and 50%. Mean splenic infarction volume was 85 +/- 13%. A phase I/II trial evaluated early administration and dose escalation of interleukin (IL)-2 with granulocyte macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) post-transplant. This report describes our experience with reduced intensity conditioning (RIC) allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) using matched sibling and unrelated donors (MUDs) for treatment of myelofibrosis (MF). We report long-term results of treatment of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) with erythropoietin and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF). A total of 129 patients were followed up 45 months after last inclusion in the Nordic MDS Group studies.
