BACKGROUND: Ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) has the main function to be stress-resistant to elbow valgus overload. Multilayer tears require a reconstruction with a tendon graft. In this study, we report the clinical, radiographic, and ultrasound outcomes after tendon graft reconstruction for symptomatic UCL insufficiency.

We report on 2 cases of hyperextension/valgus elbow injuries in two adult male national team water polo goalkeepers. Both were healthy and had never sustained any major injuries of the elbow. Mechanism and type of injury in both of them was identical. Different medical treatment protocols of these injuries possibly have led to different outcomes, with one of them developing osteochondritis dissecans (OCD). Inadequate medical treatment of acute impact elbow injuries could lead to osteochondritis disecans of the elbow in top-level adult male water polo goalkeepers.

INTRODUCTION: Elbow ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) reconstruction has become the standard of care for the throwing athlete with a symptomatic ruptured or insufficient ligament and the desire to resume competitive play. Since Jobe's initial description of UCL reconstruction, the technique has evolved. A novel modification was the "docking" technique developed by Altchek. Subsequently, the docking technique as originally described was slightly modified. Arthroscopy is no longer routinely performed, and in some cases, a 3-strand graft is used.

Hereditary neuropathy with liability to pressure palsies (HNPP) is an autosomal dominant nerve disease usually caused by 1,5 Mb deletion on chromosome 17p11.2.2-p12, the region where the PMP-22 gene is located. The results of arthroscopic debridement and loose body retrieval for osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) of the capitellum in 29 symptomatic patients who had failed conservative management are described. We assessed the clinical utility of 42 arthroscopic releases for lateral epicondylitis in 40 patients (average age, 43 years) with an average of 14 months of symptomatic history before surgery. Eight adolescent athletes (average age, 11 years; range, 9 to 15) underwent open reduction and internal fixation of acute, displaced medial epicondyle fractures. The authors describe a technique for repair of the biceps tendon rupture from the radial tuberosity. A single anterior incision, limited volar dissection, and implantable bone anchors were used. PURPOSE OF THE STUDY: Despite many publications concerning the physiopathology and the treatment of Ulnar tunnel syndrome treatment remains controversial.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: The authors reviewed 51 patients operated on for ulnar nerve entrapment at the elbow by neurolysis combined with medial epicondylectomy in case of luxation or subluxation of the nerve. Average was 39 years, 74 per cent being males, 53 per cent manual workers. According to Mc Gowan's classification, 39 per cent were grade I, 12 per cent grade IIA, 20 per cent grade IIB and 29 per cent grade III.

Nonunion of a condylar fracture of the distal humerus rarely occurs, but when present it is difficult to manage. We recommend internal fixation of the nonunion in combination with decortication and autogenous iliac crest bone grafting along with careful selection and placement of the implant. Postoperatively, the goal is preservation of elbow motion until the nonunion heals. We reviewed the cases of five patients who had surgery for nonunion of this fracture, all of which healed within 2-3 months after surgery. At final follow-up their average arc of motion was 88 degrees.
