Although there is increasing evidence for a familial role in panic disorder, little research exists on the family interaction patterns and relational stressors that may contribute to this disorder. This case series examines the effect of olanzapine on symptoms of hyperemesis gravidarum in individuals with mood disorders. Patient charts from 2022 to 2024 were reviewed, focusing on those with hyperemesis gravidarum who were treated with olanzapine alone or with other psychotropic drugs for their mood disorder. Of 6 patients with hyperemesis gravidarum, 3 had bipolar II disorder, and the others had major depressive disorder. Olanzapine was used alone in 3 cases. To determine whether DSM-III dependent personality disorder (PD) differed in males and females, 30 females and 11 males with this diagnosis were selected from a psychiatric outpatient population. The association between high evening cortisol and low morning DHEA and the pattern of co-morbid diagnoses in 82 cases of major depressive disorder in 8- to 16-year-olds has been analysed.
