OBJECTIVES: To investigate the relationship between pseudoexfoliation syndrome (PES) and the use of antidepressant medications.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: This population-based, cross-sectional study included 2,017 of 2,356 invited subjects who were randomly selected from the Turkish Statistical Institute database (www.turksat.gov.tr/) as part of an epidemiologic study which specifically aimed to detect the prevalence of PES in the province of Eskişehir. PURPOSE OF INVESTIGATION: The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of various human papillomavirus (HPV) types and its relationship with some risk factors among Turkish women.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 673 patients were included in the study. Cervical samples were taken from the patients for routine Pap smear and HPV DNA tests. HPV DNA was studied in the cervical smear by using the PCR method.
