INTRODUCTION: Topical immunotherapy is frequently used in the treatment of alopecia areata (AA) although few studies report long-term follow-up. Lateral internal sphincterotomy has been the standard treatment for chronic anal fissure, but fissure healing rates of up to 80% with topical glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) treatment have suggested that this operation may become redundant. Serial sectioning of ipsilateral axillary lymph nodes judged to be disease-free after routine histological examination revealed micrometastases in 83 (9%) of 921 breast cancer subjects. BACKGROUND: Corticosteroids have been used in ophthalmology for its potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive actions. Although the role of corticosteroid treatment is pivotal in the treatment of numerous inflammatory diseases and as postoperative management of patients who undergo ocular surgeries, intraocular pressure (IOP) elevation has been a significant ocular side effect that could result after steroid use.
