The authors report the case of a nine-year-old girl admitted to hospital with signs of meningeal irritation during the course of hyperpyretic phlogosis of the upper airways who presented, after 6 days' treatment with CFTX, at a dose of 50 mg/kg/day (1.5 g/day), therefore at the maximum recommended dose for the antibiotic in question, symptomatic cholecystic "pseudolithiasis" which resolved two weeks after the suspension of the drug. To suppress cyst formation in 42 brain tumors, 32P has been stereotactically instilled in doses calculated to deliver 20,000-40,000 rad to the cyst wall, assuming uniform dispersal of the radioisotope. In 1986 we published a preliminary report describing a modification for bladder-neck suspension in the treatment of urinary stress incontinence. From 1982 through 1989 135 surgical procedures were performed. Long-term follow-up of these patients is now presented. Of the 135 patients in this study, 118 were available for follow-up at the time of this report; 108 (91.5%) of the 118 reported no urinary leakage. A prospective randomized study was undertaken in neutropenic patients to evaluate the efficacy of prophylactic ketoconazole v nystatin in reducing yeast infections. Female urinary stress incontinence is a common surgical problem. We reviewed the case records of 71 women who were operated upon for stress incontinence at our medical center from 1975 to 1980. Of these women 30 underwent the Pereyra-Stamey endoscopically controlled suspension of the bladder neck and 41 underwent the Marshall-Marchetti-Krantz repair. The quantitative determination of antral motility from X-ray pictures was studied in 12 normal fasting subjects whose average age was 25.
