We report a case of multiple gangliogliomas of the optic pathway in an 18-year-old boy. He presented with visual disturbance mainly in his left eye, non-specific headaches, and episodes of sensory disturbance in his left arm. Visual acuity was 6/9 and 6/24 in his right and left eye respectively. He did not have any Lisch nodules. Optic atrophy was noted in his left eye. Brain abscess formation is extremely rare in patients with osteopetrosis. Herein, we report a case of viridans streptococci brain abscess in an immunocompromised child diagnosed with osteopetrosis. The patient presented with a sudden change in mental status and convulsions. Radiological evaluation revealed a temporal lobe brain abscess, and intravenous antibiotherapy was started immediately. The patient underwent abscess drainage, and laboratory investigation of pus material revealed viridans streptococci.

We report a 15-year-old girl referred to our department for a brain perfusion study with a diagnosis of Parry-Romberg syndrome with left hemifacial atrophy and left enophthalmos. In the presence of a normal magnetic resonance imaging, Tc-99m ECD brain perfusion revealed left temporal lobe hypoperfusion with preserved perfusion in rest of the cortical and subcortical regions and both cerebellar hemispheres.

A 58-year-old Korean-born woman with a history of seizures and psychiatric issues was found dead at home. Autopsy was notable for large, calcified nodules that had nearly replaced her right temporal lobe. Histologic examination revealed the presence of Paragonimus eggs. This case demonstrates a rare manifestation of an aberrantly migrated lung fluke that resulted in epilepsy and sudden death years after the initial infection.

Psychiatric and neurological disturbances can show up with panic attack symptoms. This report illustrates the difficulty in distinguishing between panic disorder and epilepsy in a subgroup of epileptic patients that suffer panic attacks as symptoms of seizures. This is the first report of panic attacks due to a focal lesion involving the left temporal lobe and the second case of panic attacks related to a meningioma.

A case of severe organic affective disorder after head trauma with loss of consciousness is presented. While CT in this case was normal, SPECT brain perfusion imaging showed hipoperfusion in the right frontal lobe and the left temporal-parietal region. The psychologic tests: Benton, Bender, MMPI confirmed changes in CNS as well. These findings help to explain the severity and chronicity of disorders and medical certification.
