Salicylic acid is an NSAID with serious side effects on the GIS. The side effects of salicylic acid on the GIS are slightly reduced by acetylating salicylic acid. 12 new ester analogs of salicylic acid were synthesized with high yields in this study. A new type of diazo compounds, namely, CH-diazomethane sulfonamides (generated in situ from readily available α-acetyl-α-diazomethane sulfonamides), was employed in a 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction with imines (also formed in situ from primary amines and aldehydes). This study describes synthesis of N‑acetyl‑l‑cysteine-capped CdTe quantum dots (QDs) and investigates their interaction with plasma protein fibrinogen (FIB) and the structural changes of FIB. It is shown that the interaction of QDs with FIB is a spontaneous process and the major driving forces are van der Waals forces and hydrogen bonds. We present an efficient approach to the synthesis of a series of glycyrrhetinic acid derivatives. Six derivatives, five of them new compounds, were obtained through chemoenzymatic reactions in very good to excellent yield. In order to find the optimal reaction conditions, the influence of various parameters such as enzyme source, nucleophile:substrate ratio, enzyme:substrate ratio, solvent and temperature was studied. A survey involving 6103 participants from five Chinese provinces was conducted to evaluate the threshold value of urinary cadmium (UCd) for renal dysfunction as benchmark dose low (BMDL). The urinary N-acetyl-β-D-glucosaminidase (UNAG) was chosen as an effect biomarker.
