Dengue fever, caused by the dengue virus (DENV), remains a major global health challenge in tropical regions. To date, no officially approved antiviral drug has been specifically targeted at DENV infections. Graphene-based materials, composed of carbon, have demonstrated antiviral potential against various viruses. In this study, graphene oxide-niclosamide (GO-Nic) hybrid material was developed by modifying GO with niclosamide, an antiparasitic anthelmintic drug that has recently shown broad-spectrum antiviral activity, including against DENV. GO was synthesized using the Hummers method and fu

Disseminated gonococcal infection (DGI) is a rare complication of Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection. Eculizumab, a complement C5 inhibitor used in conditions such as paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria, increases the risk of invasive Neisseria spp. infections. Although previous reports have described DGI in eculizumab-treated patients, evidence involving individuals with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is limited, and all cases occurred weeks to months after treatment initiation. In the present case, the patient received a quadrivalent meningococcal vaccine before receiving eculiz

The rapid emergence of resistance to novel tuberculosis drugs, such as bedaquiline, is a key threat to the long-term effectiveness of novel regimens. Given that the introduction of these agents has enabled the introduction of an all-oral regimen for rifampicin-resistant and multidrug-resistant tuberculosis, the rise of resistance underscores the urgent need to safeguard their efficacy and responsible use. A major barrier is the delay in developing reliable tools to detect resistance to novel compounds, which limits clinical decision-making and surveillance efforts. Herein, we outline a framewo

Salmonella enterica (SE) is one of the most prevalent enteric pathogens globally and infects humans through contaminated food and water sources. The rising trend of antibiotic-resistant SE strains poses a critical threat to public health. Bacteriophage-encoded endolysins evolve a promising alternative as antimicrobial agents for combating SE infections. These enzymes target the peptidoglycan layer of bacterial cells, causing cell lysis and death. However, the use of endolysins against Gram-negative bacteria is challenging due to the composition of the outer membrane, which acts as a barrier pr
