BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: The major complication of hydatid disease of the liver is intrabiliary rupture of the cyst. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the outcome of patients with intrabiliary ruptured hydatid disease of the liver.

A prospective study of modified percutaneous Achilles tendon repair performed from 1991 to 1997 under local anesthesia with a minimum 2-year follow-up is presented. There were 134 procedures in 124 men and 8 women (mean age, 37 years) treated within 7 days after acute total rupture. Postoperative care consisted of wearing a cast or soft-cast immobilization for 6 weeks. The procedure was well tolerated in all patients. There was 1 (0.7%) complete and 4 (3%) partial reruptures. OBJECTIVE: To present our initial results with the endovascular treatment of traumatic rupture of the thoracic aorta.
DESIGN: Retrospective.
METHOD: Between April and October, 2002, 4 men between the ages of 22 and 46 were treated endovascularly for a traumatic rupture of the thoracic aorta. The diagnosis 'rupture of the thoracic aorta' was made on the basis of CT-angiography in all cases. Authors analysed results of amnioinfusion in the group of 65 pregnant women with oligohydramnios and non-ruptured fetal membranes. Amnioinfusions were the most efficient in the pregnancies with oligohydramnios and asymmetric hypotrophy, idiopathic oligohydramnios or oligohydramnios with pathological FCG. Here, we present the case of ruptured intercostal artery pseudoaneurysm two months after blunt thoracic trauma. Ruptured aneurysm hemorrhaged into the retroperitoneal space due to adhesion in the intrathoracic space. We unsuccessfully embolized the aneurysm during an angiographic procedure and performed the aneurysmectomy, removing the hematoma, using a retroperitoneal approach. Ruptured intercostal artery pseudoaneurysm after blunt thoracic trauma may have caused the delayed life-threatening hemorrhage.

Traumatic bladder ruptures are generally secondary to severe trauma and associated with pelvic fractures. Conversely, isolated bladder ruptures following minor blunt trauma are rare and seldom fatal. We report two cases of rupture of flexor tendons after fracture of the distal radius. The first case was a rupture of the flexor digitorum profundus and superficialis tendon to the index finger that happened 20 years after the fracture. The second was a rupture of the flexor pollicis longus tendon that occurred two years after, and the flexor profundus tendon to the index finger that occurred four years after the fracture. In the first case, the ruptures were caused by the bony protuberance of the radius after long interval without interference of the ulnar head.
