FR901533 (1, also known as WS79089B), WS79089A (2), and WS79089C (3) are polycyclic aromatic natural products with promising inhibitory activity to endothelin-converting enzymes. In this work, we isolated five tridecaketide products from Streptosporangium roseum No. 79089, including 1-3, benaphthamycin (4) and a novel FR901533 analogue (5). The structure of 5 was characterized based on spectroscopic data. OBJECTIVE: To identify the effect of XW630 on the expression of type I collagen in the epiphyseal plates of mice.
METHODS: The immunohistochemical method was used to measure the change of type I collagen protein after being treated with XW630.
RESULTS: With 10(-7) mol/L or 10(-7) mol/L of XW630, the area of positive stain cells in every zone increased significantly compared to the control group. A more significant increase of the area of positive cells in the proliferative zone and hypertrophic zone was observed in the XW630 group than in the estrone group at a concentration of 10(-7) mol/L.

Antibacterial agents are often used in malarial endemic areas for antimalarial prophylaxis (such as doxycycline and clindamycin).
