BACKGROUND: Trauma remains the leading cause of mortality in the pediatric population. Liver injuries occur commonly in blunt abdominal trauma.
AIM: To assess the selective non-operative management of liver injuries in children.
METHODS: A retrospective review of 51 patients with a discharge diagnosis of traumatic liver injuries at Tunis Children's Hospital, over a 14-year period from 1996 to 2009.

Postoperative behavior changes, such as nocturnal enuresis, dietary problems, apathy, insomnia, nightmares and agitated sleep may be results of this anxiety. PURPOSE: Functional results, complications, cosmesis, operating time, and hospital stay were analyzed after staged urethroplasty for proximal hypospadias.
METHODS: Seventeen consecutive boys, mean age 17.7 +/- 1.6 months underwent a staged urethroplasty in the past 5 years. Urethral plate was tubularized and proximal hypospadias converted to distal. Hooded dorsal prepuce was buttonholed and transposed ventrally to cover the neo-urethra. Subsequently, a parameatal based flip flap urethroplasty completed the urethral reconstruction at mean age of 26.7 +/- 4.1 months.

We report the results of a hospital-based, case-control study on acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), acute non-lymphocytic leukemia (AnLL) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) in childhood. The history of sexual and physical abuse and the diagnosis of PTSD were examined in 98 psychiatrically hospitalized children. Relative to past studies, there was an increased incidence of abuse and of prevalence of PTSD. Specific instruments for assessing abuse and PTSD are suggested.
