First-In-Human Study of [64Cu]Cu-DOTATATE PET/CT in Infective Endocarditis: A Prospective Head-to-Head Comparison With [18F]FDG.

BACKGROUND: Infective endocarditis (IE) can be challenging to diagnose. Positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) with 2-deoxy-2-[18F]-fluoro-d-glucose ([18F]FDG) is recommended as a diagnostic tool in the guidelines, but holds limitations. The aim of this study was to compare the tracer uptake between the novel [64Cu]Cu-DOTATATE, which has low cardiac uptake and does not require fasting or dietary restrictions, and [18F]FDG in patients with IE and examine the sensitivity and specificity. METHODS: The CuDOS study (Cu-Dotatate Positron Emissions Tomography in Infective Endocard

Imaging characteristics of patients with cardiac sarcoidosis who presented with ventricular arrhythmias.

BACKGROUND: Ventricular arrhythmia (VA) is an ominous manifestation of cardiac sarcoidosis (CS). Hence, identifying specific characteristics associated with VA in imaging modalities may enhance risk stratification. METHODS: Fifty-nine patients diagnosed with CS were retrospectively studied and grouped based on presenting symptoms as the VA group (sustained ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation) and the non-VA group (atrioventricular block, heart failure, and other symptoms). Thirty-nine patients underwent comprehensive evaluation by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and 18F-fl

18F-FDG PET can effectively rule out conversion to dementia and the presence of CSF biomarker of neurodegeneration: a real-world data analysis.

BACKGROUND: Precisely defining the delay in onset of dementia is a particular challenge for early diagnosis. Brain [18F] fluoro-2-deoxy-2-D-glucose (18F-FDG) Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is a particularly interesting tool for the early diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases, through the measurement of the cerebral glucose metabolic rate. There is currently a lack of longitudinal studies under real-life conditions, with sufficient patients, to accurately evaluate the predictive values of brain 18F-FDG PET scans. Here, we aimed to estimate the value of brain 18F-FDG PET for predicting the

Whole-Body Positron Emission Tomography with 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose/Magnetic Resonance Imaging as a Screening Tool for the Detection of Malignant Transformation in Individuals with Neurofibromatosis Type 1.

Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNSTs) are the leading cause of death in patients with neurofibromatosis type 1. They can result from premalignant neurofibromas, including neurofibromas with atypia and atypical neurofibromatous neoplasms of uncertain biologic potential. Some phenotypic characteristics have been described as associated with their development. The aim of this study was to outline our use of whole-body positron emission tomography with 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose/magnetic resonance imaging in adults with neurofibromatosis type 1, especially in the screening of asymptomatic

A case of chronic contained rupture of abdominal aortic aneurysm mimicking a retroperitoneal tumor.

Chronic contained rupture of abdominal aortic aneurysm (CCR-AAA) is a rare subtype of abdominal aortic rupture that can mimic other retroperitoneal lesions. We report a case of CCR-AAA in a man in his sixties who presented with a 10-month history of right low back pain and weight loss. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) revealed a lobulated retroperitoneal mass around the abdominal aorta, initially misdiagnosed as a possible hemorrhagic retroperitoneal tumor. Despite multiple imaging studies including CT, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission to

Full automation of total metabolic tumor volume from FDG-PET/CT in DLBCL for baseline risk assessments.

BACKGROUND: Current radiological assessments of 18fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) imaging data in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) can be time consuming, do not yield real-time information regarding disease burden and organ involvement, and hinder the use of FDG-PET to potentially limit the reliance on invasive procedures (e.g. bone marrow biopsy) for risk assessment. METHODS: Our aim is to enable real-time assessment of imaging-based risk factors at a large scale and we propose a fully automatic artificial intelligence (AI)-based tool to rapidly extract FDG-PET
