A new incus-body driving type transducer relying on piezoelectric stack, with broad frequency bandwidth, is proposed for use in a middle ear implant. To aid the design process of this transducer, a coupling biomechanical model of the human middle ear and the piezoelectric transducer was established by reverse engineering technology. Visceral leishmaniasis (VL), caused by Leishmania infantum chagasi (L.i. chagasi syn. infantum) in northeastern Brazil, was responsible for 51,000 new VL cases from 1980 to 2003. A tumorigenic cell line with estrogen receptor and HER2 expression (ER/HER2⁺), R2N1d, was developed from a human breast epithelial cell type with stem cell characteristics in a growth factor/hormone-deprived cell culture condition. This work describes the identification and impact of somatic genomic abnormalities in human chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Using molecular cytogenetics (FISH) and G-banding cytogenetic analysis, chromosome abnormalities were detected in 37 of 46 (80.4%) CLL patients. 13q14 deletion was the most common finding followed by trisomy 12 and 11q22.3 deletion. 17p13 deletion was also detected as were several less frequent chromosome abnormalities.
