Treatment with the drugs berenil, dibromopropamidine, pentamidine and CGP-4O-215 were found to alter levels of intracellular polyamines of Acanthamoeba polyphagia trophozoites in organisms. A study involving 36 epileptic patients and 8 control subjects was devoted to the optimization of antiepileptic drug therapy with the help of determining the blood levels of anticonvulsants (benzonal, phenobarbital). The daily dose of an anticonvulsant directly correlated with its blood levels. Blood levels of benzonal increased upon the additional administration to patients of hexamidine or hexamidine and diphenylhydantoin mixtures. A reduction in the daily dose of benzonal by 2/3 was attended by a 50% decline in its blood levels.

A novel elastase inhibitor from Aspergillus nidulans NBRC 4340, Asnidin, was isolated, and biochemical properties and partial amino acid sequence were examined. Column chromatography using diethylaminoethyl (DE) 52-Cellulose and reversed-phase HPLC were used to purify the inhibitor. PURPOSE: This is a series of reports describing how increasing the time interval between the administration of nafamostat mesylate (NM) and levocarnitine can suppress adverse reactions in maintenance hemodialysis patients after medication.
METHODS: Clinical assessments and medical record collection were conducted by nephrologists and nurses, while laboratory tests were performed by specialist doctors.
FINDINGS: Increasing the time interval between NM and levocarnitine administration (15-25 minutes) reduced adverse drug reactions, including nausea and vomiting, in 4 patients.
