[Explanatory style and burnout at the workplace: A cluster analysis].

In the domain of the workplace, burnout appears as an important consequence of stressful events experienced by an individual. But how to def … duals, whether they are actually optimistic or pessimistic, or neither one nor the other. Through a cluster analysis, the results of this study revealed: 1) the existence of three different profiles of explanatory styles, ranging from optimistic to pessimistic; and 2) it was indeed possible to associate levels of burnout with the profiles of these styles.

Marginal analysis for clustered failure time data.

Clustered failure time data are commonly encountered in biomedical research where the study subjects from the same cluster (e.g., family) share the common genetic and/or environmental factors such that the failure times within the same cluster are correlated. Two approaches that are commonly used to account for the intra-cluster association are frailty models and marginal models. In this paper, we study the marginal proportional hazards model, where the structure of dependence between individuals within a cluster is unspecified. An estimation procedure is developed based on a pseudo-likelihood

Cluster analysis for repeated data with dropout: Sensitivity analysis using a distal event.

Degeneration of the aortic wall becomes life-threatening when the risk of rupture increases. Cluster analysis on repeated measures of the diameter of the artery revealed two subgroups of patients included in a surveillance program. These results were obtained under the assumption of missingness at random. In this article, we study the vulnerability of the cluster analysis results - the estimated trajectories and the posterior membership probabilities - by applying different missing-data models for non-ignorable dropout, as proposed by Muthen et al. (2011) to the growth of the diameter of the a…

Lifestyle clusters and bone mineral density in Chinese adults: a cross-sectional study with cluster analysis.

BACKGROUND: Osteoporosis is a major global public health challenge, with lifestyle as a key modifiable factor. This study aimed to examine associations between lifestyle patterns and bone mineral density (BMD) in Chinese adults. METHODS: In this cross-sectional, multi-center study, 5,324 adults from Beijing (2016-2020) with complete lifestyle questionnaires were analyzed (lumbar spine BMD available for 4,028; hip BMD available for 4,654). Each of eight lifestyle variables was residualized on age and sex before k-means clustering (k = 3) categorized participants into three groups: office/menta

Semiparametric regression analysis of clustered interval-censored failure time data with informative cluster size.

Clustered interval-censored failure time data are commonly encountered in many medical settings. In such situations, one issue that often arises in practice is that the cluster size is related to the risk for the outcome of interest. It is well-known that ignoring the informativeness of the cluster size can result in biased parameter estimates. In this article, we consider regression analysis of clustered interval-censored data with informative cluster size with the focus on semiparametric methods. For the problem, two approaches are presented and investigated. One is a within-cluster resampli

Sarcoidosis relapse risk factors: a single-centre retrospective cluster analysis.

BACKGROUND: Sarcoidosis is a systemic granulomatous disease with an unpredictable course. While corticosteroids are the mainstay of treatment, recurrence is common and influenced by clinical, demographic and therapeutic factors. However, an integrated approach to patient stratification remains underdeveloped. RESEARCH QUESTION: What are the key clinical, demographic and therapeutic factors influencing sarcoidosis recurrence, and how can an integrated risk stratification model improve disease management? METHODS: We conducted a clustering analysis on 160 sarcoidosis patients to identify recur

White matter alterations in cluster headache identified using PSMD analysis.

This study aimed to investigate white matter microstructural changes in patients with cluster headaches using peak width of skeletonized mean diffusivity (PSMD) derived from diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). A total of 40 participants were recruited, comprising 20 patients with newly diagnosed cluster headaches and 20 healthy controls. DTI was conducted using a 3 Tesla MRI scanner. PSMD was quantified through a standardized multi-step process involving preprocessing, skeletonization, application of a custom mask, and histogram analysis performed with the FSL program. PSMD values were compared be

Cluster headache suicidality: a systematic review with a meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND: Suicide is considered as common in patients with cluster headache (CH) and is defined as 'suicidal headache'. However, the exact level of suicidality is not known and is intuitively assumed to be correlated with the CH severity. METHODS: This work is a systematic review of data accessible through PubMed and published up to July 25, focusing on the suicidality of CH according to the rates of suicidal ideation and suicide attempts. This meta-analysis was carried out with all selected studies then by considering studies with specialized recruitment and studies with non-specialized re

Identifying New Subtypes of Multiple System Atrophy Using Cluster Analysis.

BACKGROUND: Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is a disease with diverse symptoms and the commonly used classifications, MSA-P and MSA-C, do not cover all the different symptoms seen in MSA patients. Additionally, these classifications do not provide information about how the disease progresses over time or the expected outcome for patients. OBJECTIVE: To explore clinical subtypes of MSA with a natural disease course through a data-driven approach to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of MSA. METHODS: We followed 122 cases of MSA collected from 3 hospitals for 3 years. Demographic characterist

Genetic and Transcriptional Analysis of 8q24.21 Cluster in Gastric Cancer.

BACKGROUND/AIM: Previous studies from our research group have shown that trisomy 8 and the amplification of the 8q24.21 region is very frequent in gastric cancer (GC). Little is known about the role of most genes located in this region. Thus, the aim of this study was to understand the possible impact of transcriptional alterations and copy number variation (CNV) of four genes located in the 8q24.21 region - FAM49B, FAM84B, GSDMC and miR-5194 - in GC. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Fifty-one to 85 matched pairs of tumoral and adjacent non-tumoral gastric tissues, from patients with primary GC, were u

Cluster analysis of seriously injured occupants in motor vehicle crashes.

Permanent monitoring of real-world crashes is important to identify injury patterns and injury mechanisms that still occur in the field despite existing regulations and consumer testing programs. This study investigates current injury patterns at the MAIS 3+ level in the accident environment without limiting the impact direction. The approach consisted of applying unsupervised clustering algorithms to NASS-CDS crash data in order to classify seriously injured, belted occupants into clusters based on injured body regions, biomechanical characteristics and crash severity. Injury patterns in each
