CASE REPORT: A 73 year-old woman with epiphora and ocular irritation resistant to medical treatment. The lacrimal pathway was permeable and there was no eyelid malposition. On examining the patient with her glasses on, both lower eyelids presented an inner third ectropion. Once the diagnosis was established and the mechanical factor resolved, the clinical symptoms improved within a few days.
DISCUSSION: The diagnosis of the eyelid ectropion can be more complex when the ectropion is secondary to wearing glasses. The presence of the epicanthic fold shows the importance of the mechanical factor.…

INTRODUCTION: Interleukin (IL)-13 is a key mediator of type 2 inflammation and an important therapeutic target in atopic dermatitis (AD). Although IL-4/IL-13 and IL-13 inhibitors demonstrate favorable safety profiles, ocular adverse events are recognized complications. Conjunctivitis is most commonly reported, and cicatricial ectropion has been described with IL-4/IL-13 inhibition. Congenital ectropion uveae (CEU) is a rare, non progressive anomaly characterised by the presence of iris pigment epithelium on the anterior surface and is frequently associated with anterior iris insertion, dysgenesis of the drainage angle and glaucoma. This paper describes an unusual case of bilateral congenital ectropion uveae with iris coloboma and telecanthus. The anterior chamber angle was normal and there was no evidence of glaucoma. To the best of our knowledge, this association has not been reported previously.

METHODS: Retrospective chart review of patients with cicatricial, involutional, or paralytic ectropion with midface descent. Ectropion repair with adjunctive supraperiosteal midface lifting was performed on each patient. Surgical indications included lower eyelid ectropion, lagophthalmos, and/or cosmetic deformity.
