Withdrawal of benzodiazepines is currently advised for long-term benzodiazepine users because of doubts about continued efficacy, risks of adverse effects, including dependence and neuropsychological impairment and socio-economic costs. This investigation delineates occupational health concerns related to petroleum products handling at Petroleum Oil and Lubricant (POL) depots. The cohort included 117 workers from depots in Sihala, Risalpur and Lahore, alongside 69 controls. North American river otters (Lontra canadensis) were trapped in a managed marsh in northern California between July and November of 1998. Five trap types using several set configurations were utilized in this study. Ownership is universal and ubiquitous in human societies, yet the psychology underpinning ownership intuitions is generally not described in a coherent and computationally tractable manner. Ownership intuitions are commonly assumed to derive from culturally transmitted social norms, or from a mentally represented implicit theory. While the social norms account is entirely ad hoc, the mental theory requires prior assumptions about possession and ownership that must be explained. Here I propose such an explanation, arguing that the intuitions result from the interaction of two cognitive systems.

Effects of two models of chronic stress were studied in adult male rats with inherited stress-induced arterial hypertension (ISIAH) and in Wistar rats. Intact males of both rat strains demonstrated a similar behavioural and hormonal activation in sexual arousal. Prepubertal chronic stress decreased the female-induced behavioural response and the effect depended on the character of stress and the animal genotype. No long-lasting effects of pre-pubertal stress on the plasma corticosterone level in males under sexual arousal were observed.
