We are reporting a male, 46 years old came to emergency unit with a chief complaint of abdominal tenderness since 1 day prior to admission. No history of abdominal trauma. He often felt abdominal discomfort for the last 5 years. We report the case of a 65-year-old woman who was treated with low-molecular-weight heparin and suffered spontaneous rupture of an ovarian cystadenocarcinoma. We present the computed tomography findings and make a review of the literature. Spontaneous hemoperitoneum is an infrequent complication of ovarian neoplasms and, to the best of our knowledge, this is the first-described case report of peritoneal bleeding secondary to a cystadenocarcinoma in the recent English literature.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) is a rare condition with an annual worldwide incidence of 11 to 15 cases per million, with nearly 5000 cases occurring in the United States yearly. Patients with ascites can develop spontaneous hemoperitoneum after injury or as a complication of diagnostic or therapeutic techniques. Spontaneous rupture of intra-abdominal varices is a rare complication of portal hypertension and an infrequent cause of hemoperitoneum that causes high mortality (75%). We present a new case of spontaneous hemoperitoneum secondary to umbilical vein rupture in a male patient with liver cirrhosis and review the cases previously described in the literature.

Severe intraabdominal bleeding in neonates within 24 hours after birth are an extremely seldom event. In our neonate, the intraabdominal bleeding was diagnosed by the clinical picture and by abdominal ultrasound examination. The etiology for this bleeding was primarily a blunt abdominal trauma as described in most cases of the liver; however, histology showed a congenital cavernous angioma of the liver resulting in a different tensile strength of this part of the liver in comparison with the rest of the liver tissue. The author describes a clinical case of a woman with tubal pregnancy and acute intraabdominal haemorrhage to emphasize the diagnostical and therapeutical problems. The initial diagnosis of the patient was intrauterine pregnancy and spontaneous abortion, proved by ultrasound examination. Due to the high qualifications and long clinical experience of the physician the exact diagnosis was made and the life of the woman was saved.

We present two cases of acute cholecystitis occurring more than two years after renal transplantation. The course of the acute event was complicated by the presence of hemobilia in one of the patients and severe hemoperitoneum in both patients. We comment the possible etiologic factors, the high efficiency of the diagnostic procedures and the importance of prompt cholecystectomy as the best treatment method.

A rare case of haemoperitoneum from rupture of haemocholecyst is described. The origin of the haemorrhage, on the basis of the case history, clinical, intra-operative and anatomo-pathological data, was in all probability intrahepatic. In addition to discussion of the incidence of this morbid event, the article refers to the most frequent causes of haemobilia, the physiopathological mechanisms supporting it, the symptomatological triad characterising it even when aspecific, and the available diagnostic possibilities.

INTRODUCTION: Uterine fibroids, which are common benign tumors, rarely cause acute complications. We herein report a case of hemoperitoneum associated with uterine fibroid that could be diagnosed preoperatively with contrast-enhanced computerized tomography (CT).

The haemocholecyst is a rare disease with a low index of suspiction, which is even lower if the patient does not present risk factors. Likewise, the course of this pathology with a haemoperitoneum without vesicular perforation is equally infrequent. We present an unusual case in which the diagnosis of the patient was carried out intraoperatively. We consider that communicating these unusual cases in clinical practice helps to increase clinical suspiction and prompt diagnosis.
