The complexation equilibria between Be2+ and the hydrogen salicylate (HL-) ions have been studied, at 25 degrees C, by potentiometric measurements with a glass electrode in 3 M NaClO4. The concentrations of metal (CM) and ligand (CL) were varied between 10(-3) and 0.03 M and 2 x 10(-3) and 0.03 M, respectively, while 1 < or = CL/CM < or = 3. The hydrogen ion concentration ranged from 10(-3) to 10(-5.3) M when basic salts start to precipitate. The sorption of Cu(2+), Pb(2+), Ni(2+), and Cd(2+) ions on the aluminum(III) phosphate was observed to increase with increases in the concentration, temperature, and pH of the system. In this study 67 workmen exposed to ions of heavy metals have been investigated because of their fertility. Concentrations of the noxious substances and their metabolites in blood and urine have been estimated and spermiograms were performed. The investigations demonstrated that a correlation exists between the concentrations of noxious substances in the place of employment, in the blood, and in the ejaculate, besides of zinc. An increased number of pathological spermiograms could be established especially in cases with an exceed of maximum permitted concentrations in the place of employment.

Nonadrenergic inhibitory junction potentials (IJPs) evoked by intramural stimulation were investigated in smooth muscle of guinea pig stomach, caecum and colon by means of sucrose-gap method. IJPs disappeared in the smooth muscle preexposed to K-free Krebs solution for 4-9 h and restored by addition 6mM Cs+.
