Infiltrative lipomas, similar to those described in man, were diagnosed in 12 dogs of various breeds, sexes, and ages. The neoplasms were poorly delineated, soft enlargements in muscle and connective tissue that caused dysfunction because of mechanical interference or pressure pain. The neoplasms consisted of differentiated fat cells that had infiltrated between or replaced muscle, collagen fibers or both. Single or multiple recurrences followed surgical removal in four of eight dogs: no follow-up was possible in the other four.

Lipomas are common tumours. However they are a rare occurrence in the larynx. They are an unusual cause for hoarseness of voice and may at times present acutely with respiratory distress due to significant airway compromise. The characteristic imaging features help to differentiate it from laryngeal malignancy and other common pathologies. We present a case of a laryngeal lipoma arising from the aryepiglottic fold, which was diagnosed on imaging and confirmed on histopathological examination after surgical excision. We also briefly discuss the differential diagnoses of this entity.

Failure to differentiate between the different types of lumbosacral lipomas may lead to inaccurate assumptions and inappropriate management of patients. This is a case report of a male patient admitted with a huge rectosigmoid mass that had eroded into the lumen, causing persistent rectal bleeding. Special procedures such as double contrast Barium Enema, abdomino-pelvic CT-Scan and proctosigmoidoscopy addressed us to identify it as an intramural lipoma. Rectosigmoid lipoma with its differential diagnosis and surgical approach is reviewed together with the most pertinent literature.
