Tumors arising from different organs may infiltrate the peri- and myocardium. Complete resections and defect repairs are possible using a variety of operating techniques. Although longterm survival rates of those patients with advanced tumor stages are unfavorable, individuals can be cured. Almost always, the patient's condition can symptomatically be improved by reduction of cardiac tamponade, venous congestion, and dyspnoe.

By methods of light and electron microscopies, morphometric and stereologic analysis the effect of ethanol, thiamine deficiency diet and ethanol combined with B1 hypovitaminosis in 24 Wistar male-rats during 6 weeks was studied. The effect of phenothiazines-trifluoroperazine frenolone, majeptile and aminazine on contractility of papillar muscle of Wistar male rats associated with short-term Ca-concentration increase up to 4 mM has been studied. There has been found the parameter-relaxation index-the change of which under the effect of phenothiazines (10(-5) M in all the cases) made use of significantly correlates with the constants, which reflect the similarity of given agents with calmodulin.

Experimental thyrotoxicosis was induced in rats and rabbits. The content of catecholamines was significantly decreasing in the myocardium of rabbits in the presence of severe thyroidine-induced toxicosis. The noradrenaline concentration was especially low in the ventricles. The histochemical examination of the myocardium of rats revealed a reduction of catecholamines fluorescence, which indicates a decrease in their amount in the adrenergic structures.

Casuistic report on an intramural hamartoma of the size of a walnut in the left ventricle consisting of fibrous connective tissue, vessels and smooth musculature which was found as secondary findings in the autopsy of a 76-year-old man. With the help of statistic material from literature is referred to the rarity of primary cardiac tumours. On the basis of other casuistic contributions of newer literature is referred to the clinical significance which cardiac tumors may have in adequate localisation as well as sufficient size.

Epithelioid haemangioendothelioma (EH) is a rare malignant tumor of vascular origin that usually arises in bone, liver, soft tissue, or lung. EH originating in the pleura has been less frequently described. We describe an uncommon case of pleural EH compressing the myocardium in a 39-year-old woman.
